STEELE joined Albion from Manchester United in August 2006 as part of the deal which saw Tomasz Kuszczak move to Old Trafford on a season-long loan.
The former England Under-18 keeper penned a three-year Hawthorns deal.
After making two senior appearances for hometown club Peterborough, Steele joined United for an initial £500,000 fee in March 2002.
Steele, a key member of United's FA Youth Cup-winning side of 2003, joined Coventry on a season-long loan in September 2004 to gain first-team experience. He further enhanced his blossoming reputation with the Sky Blues, making 36 starts.
Steele rejoined Coventry on loan in August 2006 - just a week before he was recalled to complete a permanent move to The Hawthorns.
However, Steele had to settle for a bench berth during the opening four months of his Hawthorns career and rejoined Coventry on loan for the third time in his young career in December 2006, without having made a first-team appearance for the Baggies.
This deal was subsequently extended until the end of the 2006/07 season.
