HAVE you got a head for figures?

Well, in our weekly feature for the 2007/08 season, we find out whether the Albion players and coaching staff have.

Every Tuesday, a member of the Baggies camp will randomly pick 15 questions to answer from a colourful selection of 40 puzzlers.

We will then put them under the spotlight.

Today, we quiz defender Shelton Martis.

Q7: What was the last album you downloaded to your ipod?

SM: Nothing for a while because I lost my ipod. It was just a couple of songs by Caribbean singers called 'Champagne Forever'. I like Caribbean music.

Q10: Who did you have a schoolboy crush on?

SM: No-one really, I was too into football to like girls! I was always the first one out onto the playground to kick my football around. There was no time for girls.

Q15: What was your best and worst subject at school?

SM: My best one has to be Sports, the worst was History. I like it now but at school I just didn't like it. I only wanted to play sports!

Q30: When was the last time you used public transport?

SM: It must have been about three or four years ago. I think it was the bus or the train.

Q36: What is your favourite goal you have scored/save you have made?

SM: My best professional goal was when I was at Darlington. It was great but it was one of my first goals with the club so it was just special. My favourite ever was when I was younger, only about 12, and I was a right-winger. We were playing Ajax in this tournament and I just smashed the ball into the top corner from about 25 yards and we won the game 2-1. I know I was young but it was a pretty good goal!

Q25: Property aside, what is the most expensive thing you have bought?

SM: It's got to be my Playstation 3. I got one the first day it came out I just had to get it. I got one with a couple of games. I still play loads now. I am addicted to it, especially 'Call of Duty'.

Q8: What has been your most embarrassing moment?

SM: I've got loads but I'm not telling you! I'm a quiet guy really. I keep on the down low and don't make jokes. I sound boring!

Q28: Who was your hero as a youngster?

SM: It wasn't anyone famous. I just looked up to my cousins. They are my heroes. They were very independent and I learnt a lot from them about life and football. They have helped make me the person I am today.

Q38: Would you like to be a manager one day?

SM: I sometimes think about it, and think it would be good for me. I get frustrated quite easily though, which probably wouldn't be too good as a manager. But if I can control that, one day I would be interested. If I wasn't a manager I would like to help coach younger kids that would benefit from my experience.

Q32: What is your greatest achievement in football?

SM: Winning the CIS Cup with Hibs was brilliant. I played every game until the final, which was a bit disappointing but at the end of the day we won the Cup and it was still good to be involved.

Q21: What is your most treasured possession?

SM: It's got to be my daughter. She is five in March and she is my little protégée. Everything I do she does, she is very much like her Dad.

Q18: What song would you choose if ordered to take part in karaoke?

SM: I'm not sure, I'm no a singer! If I had to do it I would pick R Kelly 'I Believe I Can Fly'. I'd only pick that one because my girlfriend's little brother sang it and it was a complete embarrassment, so it would be quite funny.

Q14: What is your favourite other sport?

SM: I play a bit of golf now, but I like quite a few sports - apart from darts and cricket!

Q29: What is your favourite item of clothing?

SM: I haven't got a favourite. I just like to feel comfortable.

Q40: If you were cooking to impress, what dish would you select?

SM: I cook everyday. I'm a big fan of 'Ready, Steady, Cook! I like experimenting with food and I just tell my missus to pick a few items and we make something. Nine out of ten times it works out okay, so I wouldn't choose one dish I'd just see what happened.
