Hotline keeping boss busy
TONY Mowbray has revealed his phone has not stopped ringing since Albion clinched promotion - mainly with agents touting players.
But the Baggies boss is not complaining because he knows he may unearth a gem amongst all the names thrown at him.
"It's been busier since last Sunday than at any stage of the season," he said.
"The games consume all of your time during the season but we didn't leave the office until 8 o'clock on Tuesday night so it's busier and more intense now.
"Have I relaxed? No.
"Things are pretty intense at the moment but hopefully they will calm down a little bit in a week or so.
"At the moment I am trying to clear all the stuff I've got to deal with.
"I don't mind doing all of the work on player recruitment but there are a lot of other things going on that I've got to deal with first.
"Then hopefully the summer will take some sort of common thread and I'll know what I am doing most days.
"At the moment I am just clearing the backlog of everything that needed clearing from the season so it's been busier, not quieter.
"Agents are doing their jobs and they target certain clubs for certain players.
"You would be a fool to ignore them.
"You have to listen to the names and hopefully the name you were waiting to hear might be in one of those lists."
