TWO second-half goals sentenced a young Albion reserves side to a 2-0 defeat at Stoke in Pontin's Holidays League Division One (Central).

Some sloppy defending allowed the Potters to open the scoring and the Baggies conceded the second from the penalty spot.

Josh Knight, Sebastien Lake-Gaskin and Lateef Elford-Alliyu all missed chances for the visitors.

Albion reserves boss Craig Shakespeare said: "We conceded two poor goals.

"We failed to clear our lines for the first to give them a chance from 12 yards.

"And Gavin Carlin brought down someone to give them a penalty.

"We were well worth a point though and played the better football.

"Unfortunately we missed four of five good opportunities.

"However, it was a young side containing some Under-16s players and they acquitted themselves well."
