ROBERT Koren is relishing the opportunity to pit his wits against a Premier League outfit in Saturday's FA Cup semi-final with Portsmouth (ko 12.15pm).

The Baggies avoided opposition from England's elite in previous rounds en route to this season's last four.

And the Slovenia international believes the Wembley date is the perfect chance to showcase their top-flight credentials against high-flying Pompey.

"We've been saying all year we want to play in the Premier League," said Koren.

"We've been trying to play good football in the process and now we have the opportunity to show what we can do against a good team.

"We have to make sure we are properly prepared to show we are ready for the Premier League."

Victory over Harry Redknapp's men would mean a first FA Cup final in 40 years for Albion.

And the 27-year-old ace admits a win would also boost confidence levels for the six-game Championship run-in, which is proving to be one of the closest for many years.

"Our focus is now on Wembley," Koren added.

"We will prepare ourselves as best as possible.

"We will do everything we can to get to the final.

"We have been focused on the league but when you get to the FA Cup semi-final then you can't just treat it as another game.

"Yes we're playing against a top Premier League team, and it will be tough, but it's a great challenge for us.

"We want to get promotion to the Premier League and we will do what we can.

"We know that once Saturday is out of the way we still want to get three points in our next league game and concentrate on getting into the top two.

"To play at Wembley in front of so many supporters is big for us and to win on Saturday and reach the final would give us great confidence.

"Even if we don't get the result at Wembley we will focus on the league games."
