MacDonald blow for Baggies
SHERJILL MacDonald has added to Albion's injury woes after being told he needs a knee cartilage operation.
The Baggies pace ace is set to go under the knife later this week and is set to be out for around a fortnight.
On a brighter note, Carl Hoefkens has returned to training and could be available for tomorrow's trip to Charlton (ko 4.45pm).
Chris Brunt (hamstring) and James Morrison (ankle) are both edging close to fitness but the Valley visit will come too soon for them.
And Leon Barnett has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.
"Sherjill MacDonald has got cartilage issues so he'll be having an operation in the next day or two," said Mowbray.
"He'll be out for around two weeks.
"Carl's got a chance.
"He's been training the last three days and I would suggest he'll be in contention for tomorrow.
"Chris is out there running now and hopefully James Morrison will just be a week away or so as well."
