HAT-TRICK hero Ishmael Miller has been nominated for the 'Player of the Round' award after his terrific treble in Albion's 5-1 FA Cup quarter-final win at Bristol Rovers.

The 21-year-old Baggies striker is in the running with Cardiff's Peter Whittingham, Portsmouth's Glen Johnson, and Barnsley's Kayode Odejayi and Brian Howard.

Mark Clemmit of Radio Five Live went for Odejayi, whose towering header knocked out the holders at Oakwell, while Howard Wheatcroft of the Daily Star went for the Barnsley skipper Brian Howard for his part in the triumph.

Ricky George of the Daily Telegraph chose Peter Whittingham after the former Aston Villa man scored the opener and created the second in an incredible upset at the
Riverside.

David Emery of the Non-League Paper went for Glen Johnson who made a number of fine blocks that gave
Portsmouth the chance to sneak through with a tremendous victory at Old Trafford.

The FA Cup Player of the Round award, sponsored by E.ON, is presented to the outstanding player at each stage of competition, starting from the first qualifying round all the way to the semi-finals.

'Player of the Round' winners will receive VIP hospitality for themselves and their guest at The FA Cup Final on Saturday, May 17.

The winner of each award will be presented with a trophy along with a kit bag of training equipment which he can donate to a local school of his choice.
