MICHAEL Appleton blamed individual errors for Albion Under-18s' 4-1 defeat at Huddersfield Town in the FA Premier Academy League on Saturday.

The Baggies found themselves 3-0 down after only 15 minutes and wasted a host of one-on-one opportunities to get themselves back in the game.

Matthew Pike scored his first goal for the club after tapping home the rebound after Joss Labadie's free-kick was saved but it was too little too late.

"The opening 15 minutes was a bit of a disaster," said Appleton

"We faced a lot of long balls and balls into the channels and we were 3-0 down in the first 15 minutes due to massive individual errors.

"But we didn't stop believing in what we were doing and kept passing the ball.

"We had 70 to 80 per cent of possession but we missed a lot of one-v-ones and if you keep missing those you'll pay for it."

ALBION: Lloyd-Weston, Downing, Hurst, Labadie, Pike, Mason (Binning 55), Samuels (Holmes 55), Lake-Gaskin, Alliyu, Knight (Morrison 55), Saied.
