HOEF THE CUFF: I'm ready for action
TOMORROW can't come soon enough for me.
I came through training okay today and I'm fit and available for selection against Charlton.
The gaffer didn't want to risk me against Leicester on Saturday.
My hamstring wasn't quite 100 per cent right, but now I've had a week of training, I'm ready to go.
It was frustrating having to sit and watch the Leicester game.
We looked good in the first half-hour but a game can turn really quickly.
Leicester gave it everything they had because they are in a relegation fight.
No-one is blaming Luke Moore for getting sent-off.
He is a very fair player and it was just one of those things.
You're bound to get a few red cards over the course of a season.
Tomorrow is going to be a massive game for us because Charlton are struggling and we haven't done so well over the last couple of games.
It's a big game for both sides because the teams behind us are creeping up.
But the two at the top can't seem to run away, either.
It's just about us now and if we win every game we will be top of the league.
It's going to be very hard but that has to be our goal.
Hopefully, we can make a good start tomorrow and keep the Addicks fans quiet to give us a platform to win the game.
We still believe in each other and what we're doing.
We just need to perform.
Training has been really good this week and we're ready to go now.
Hopefully, after the weekend, we'll get some of our injured players back.
At least Zolly is looking a bit more awake now!
I don't think he was getting much sleep earlier in the week with the arrival of his first child last Friday.
He's had a little baby girl called Hanna and is a very proud dad.
The away trip will do him good because he won't have to be up with the baby.
It's a scary thought Zolly being a dad (!) but I think it's great.
I can't give him any tips because I'm still finding out myself with my kids.
It's like having to learn a whole new language when you have a baby for the first time.
He'll have to learn the hard way like me!
On the subject of different languages...
I have to say my new ambition after football is to become a translator after some things I said in the Belgian press got messed up when they were printed over here.
However, the only thing I'm focusing on now is tomorrow's game at The Valley and getting a win to help our promotion push.
