Visually impaired side go top
ALBION'S visually impaired 'A' side matched Tony Mowbray's men at the weekend by hitting the top of the table.
The Baggies are now seven points clear of Inter Cosmos in the BBS League after the second tournament of the season at the Manchester City Academy.
Albion took a maximum 12 points from their four games with wins over Loughborough Lions A and B, Inter Cosmos and the Royal Nation College for the Blind.
John McDougal, recently back from the European Championships with England, produced possibly his best performances in a Baggies shirt.
And, without their regular goalkeeper, Matt Ringland stepped in between the sticks and performed well.
New signing Dan Branson never looked out of place on his debut and added freshness to the squad.
Club captain Kurt Butler held the team together at the back and Leon Cheshire came off the bench to score three goals.
The 'B' side improved with their first victory of the campaign against Swansea City.
There were excellent displays from Dean Bonehill and a great debut in goal from Alex Higgins.
They remain bottom of the table but closed the gap on Swansea to six points with the third tournament of the season at Telford Dome on Saturday, January 12.
